This database contains a list of photographs from the Museum Railway Association. You can search for photos in the following ways:

You can enter various search criteria in the search fields, such as the time period from which you want to search for images. For example, if you want to search for images from the 1920s (1920-29), you can choose the interval from January 1, 1920 to December 31, 1929. Note that the oldest dates are easiest to enter manually, after which you can also select days via the calendar.

  • In the "Haku" (Search) field, you can enter keywords to search for images. The drop-down menu next to it can affect how your keywords are used. You can also use the + sign in front of the search word if the word must be included in the search and the - sign if the word must not be in the search result.
  • The "Valitse" (Select) menu allows you to select the columns displayed in the table.
  • Linked headings can be used to arrange rows. It's a good idea to arrange rows by only one column at a time. With the third click, the column order returns to normal. By default, search results are sorted by the date the photo was taken.
  • In the "Näytä" (Show) field, you can directly enter the image number and press "Mene!" (Go) button to start the listing from this number.

Click on a small photo to see a larger photo, and you can browse all the images on that page. If you want to see a full-size image with all the information and comment on the image, click the photo button on the right ( ).

If you want the listing to start directly with a specific image number, you can enter that image number in the "Näytä" (View) field at the bottom of the page and press the Return key or click "Hae!" (Search!) button. From the "Näytä #" (Show #) drop-down menu at the bottom, you can choose how many images to list per page. The default is 50 images per page.

In order to browse all the images, you must request the researcher's rights to the image database from the Museum Railway Association. If you already have the rights of a researcher, you can log in to the picture archive of the Museum Railway Association below. You can also comment on pictures without logging in. The rights of the researcher can be inquired at arkistot (at) museorautatieyhdistys.fi.
